Maine Jewish Museum Virtual Art Auction 2021

Please join us for The Maine Jewish Museum’s first ever online art auction generously curated by the founders of Barridoff Galleries, Annette and Rob Elowitch. Rob and Annette are back and better than ever and have gathered a varied and exciting roster of many of Maine’s finest artists. Proceeds from the MJM Art Auction will help financially support the museum’s mission of celebrating and honoring the contributions and diversity of Maine’s Jewish community. Through exhibits, programming, and dialogue the Museum seeks to build bridges of appreciation and understanding with people of all backgrounds.

We are tremendously excited to have reopened the Museum after the fire last May forced us to close for 9 full months while the building was entirely restored from top to bottom. While we are still limited by COVID-19 regarding the number of people that can visit us in person, through this MJM Art Auction, we can reach all of you virtually.

This year The MJM will continue to proudly show changing art exhibits every six weeks as curated by our wonderful Resident Art Curator Nancy Davidson and our equally wonderful Photography Curator Nanci Kahn, featuring artists with a Jewish affiliation and connection to Maine. We also will feature our permanent historical and cultural collections include Jack Montgomery’s Maine Holocaust Survivors, Maine Jewish Summer Camps, The Maine Jewish Hall of Fame Exhibit Presented by Dorothy Suzi Osher in Memory of Alfred Osher, and coming soon, Maine Synagogues Past and Present. Come visit if you can or visit our website (mainejewishmuseum.org)!

In order to bid (starting April 25th after the preview period ends), you will need to create an account on the Better World auction website (https://mainejewishmuseum.betterworld.org/auctions/maine-jewish-museum-auction-2021)
where it says LOGIN or Create an Account. If you try to bid on an item without an account it will ask you to first create an account. Once you’ve created an account, you won’t need to login again. If someone outbids you, you will get an email telling you so and can counter the bid if you want.

*All sales will be charged a 5.5% Maine sales tax.

*Shipping expenses are the responsibility of the buyer.

*Shipping details and arrangements will be worked out at the end of the auction.

*Tipping Betterworld is OPTIONAL. Please read the small print and if there’s an inadvertent charge to your account contact us and we will remedy it.
