About This Exhibition
This pop-up exhibition features The Maine Art Chavurah, a small group of Maine Artists who have met for the past 5 years, studying a particular Jewish topic with a Rabbinical student, and supporting each other in learning and creating art. 2025’s topic was Sukkot, rich with symbolism, multiple religious and cultural traditions, and implications for modern life and art.
The group’s work culminates annually with an exhibition and an artists’ panel session at the Maine Conference for Jewish Life in Waterville. The group is pleased to share selections from that show with the Maine Jewish Museum, featuring artwork by Meryl Troop, Gail Wartel, Howard Solomon, Ashram Cinnamon, and Sarah Meyer-Waldo.
