Jeffrey Ackerman
July 2 – August 27, 2026
About This Exhibition
This exhibition includes paintings and sculpture produced over the last 8 years. The title suggests an affinity with cinema, most evident in the painting compositions; the over the shoulder shots framing the action, or the epic overview of the crane shot. The scenes seem to take place on a sound stage, rather than actual landscape or structure. The sculpture might be props, model architecture or strange costume, all suggesting a vision of the future or some imagined past. The show becomes the set, with painted backdrops, star actors, divas, and extras straight from central casting.
