The Teaching of Isaac Luria to Reflections on Melville and Other Paintings

Arthur Yanoff
November 7, 2024 – January 3, 2025

About This Exhibition

Arthur Yanoff’s paintings are based on direct observation of the “subject,” which takes him into a path of abstraction in relation to the actual results. “Still I don’t consider a painting realized until I sense an aspect of the original source woven into the fabric,” says Yanoff.

About the Artist

Arthur Yanoff grew up outside of Boston in a town by the ocean, the light of which has always influenced his work. The great-grandson of a distinguished Lubavitch Chasidic rabbi, he studied at the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston. His work is in Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Santa Fe Museum, Yeshiva University Museum, the Addison Gallery of American Art, the Mattatuck Museum, the Berkshire Museum, the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University, and others. It is also in corporate and private collections in London, Paris, Jerusalem and throughout the U.S.
