Hadassah X MJM Book Group – November 2022

For the second year in a row, Hadassah and MJM are combining forces in our joint Book Group. This month, we will be discussing The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem by Sarit Yishai-Levi. Now a streaming Netflix series, The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem is a dazzling story about mothers and daughters, secrets and betrayals, and a binding curse. The book was selected to complement a contemporaneous  MJM photographic exhibition, PerSlovak 2.0, which we encourage you to explore after we finish our discussion.

Join fellow bibliophiles at the Museum for lively discourse and warm camaraderie. We’d love it if you came prepared with your review of the book and the Netflix series (of the same name), which members can watch on their own, though this is by no means a requirement. You are also welcome to join us if you have not yet had time to read the book — you can use our discussion to decide if it is something you want to add to your reading list!
