Pre-Opening Drop-In and Social Hour at the Museum

Join MJM Curator in Residence Nancy Davidson and Executive Director Dawn LaRochelle for an informal pre-opening drop-in and social hour at the Museum. This month, Melissa Martens, Executive Director of the Council of American Jewish Museums (CAJM), will be our special guest. Melissa has over three decades of experience in the museum field, including as Director of Collections and Exhibitions at the Museum of Jewish Heritage — A Living Memorial to the Holocaust (NY), Curator of the Jewish Museum of Maryland, and Curator of the Jane Addams Hull-House Museum.  She continues to curate exhibitions on Jewish life and history and has authored related publications. She is also one of the world’s leading authorities on the history of Mah Jongg. Melissa currently makes her home just outside of Westbrook in Maine. The coffee (from Coffee By Design!) will be hot, the crullers (from Eighty 8 Donuts!) will be sweet, and the conversation will be stimulating!
