Hole in the Head Review Poetry Reading Series – October 2022

The Maine Jewish Museum is proud to be collaborating with Hole in the Head Review to host quarterly poetry readings at the Museum.

Two acclaimed Maine poets, Jeri Theriault and Mike Bove, will be the featured readers in January.

A Franco-American poet, Jeri Theriault grew up in Waterville, Maine. Her poetry collections include Redost, my red (2016) and In the Museum of Surrender, first-place winner of the 2013 Encircle Chapbook Contest. She is the editor of WAIT: Poems from the Pandemic (2021). Her poems have appeared in numberous journals, including The Beloit Poetry Journal, Rhino, Rattle, Juked, The Texas Review, The Asheville Poetry Review, and The American Journal of Poetry. Theriault received the 2022 NORward Prize from the New Ohio Review and the 2019 Maine Literary Award for poetry (short works). She currently resides in South Portland, Maine.

Born and raised in Portland, Maine, where he still lives with his family, Mike Bove is the author of two books of poetry, Big Little City (2018) and House Museum (2021). His work has appeared in the U,S,, U.K., and Candada in publications including Rattle, The Maine Review, The Cafe Review, and the anthologies WAIT: Poems from the Pandemic and Writing the Land Northeast. In 2021, he was the winner of the Maine Postmark Poetry Contest.
