Twists of Tradition: A Community Challah Braiding Workshop… in the Garden!

Thursday, July 17, 2025
7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Hosted at the Maine Jewish Museum

The Maine Jewish Museum, Jewish Community Alliance of Southern Maine, and the Challah Back Girls invite you to a joyful evening of challah braiding, connection, and community.

With generous support from the JCA, this hands-on workshop will introduce multiple fun and creative braiding techniques—perfect for all skill levels and ages. Celebrate Jewish tradition, nourish new friendships, and leave with your own beautifully braided challah, ready to bake and enjoy for Shabbat.

About the Challah Back Girls:

Challah Back Girls™ (CBG) is a small business founded by four siblings to bake the world a more just, equitable, and compassionate place through the unity of challah—a traditional Jewish braided bread.

With each challah baked and delivered nationwide, CBG uses challah as a powerful symbol of change and opportunity to break bread with diverse communities.

Through strategic partnerships with organizations, brands, and community leaders, Challah Back Girls™ builds bridges, fosters collaboration, and uplifts the Jewish value of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world)—creating a more equitable and inclusive society both locally and globally.
