Museum Shop

The Maine Jewish Museum Shop offers visitors an opportunity to take a piece of the museum experience home with them. Thoughtfully curated to reflect the creativity, history, and diversity of Jewish life in Maine and beyond, the shop highlights Jewish and Maine-based artists, makers, and authors.

Many items in the shop are crafted locally or produced by independent Jewish artists and small businesses, making the shop an extension of the museum’s mission to celebrate culture, storytelling, and community. Visitors will find everything from handmade jewelry and distinctive Judaica to cards, prints, and unique gifts that reflect both Jewish tradition and contemporary artistic expression.

The shop also carries books that illuminate Jewish history and life in Maine. Among them is From the Holocaust to Maine: Testimonies of the Survivors by Maine historian Jack Montgomery, which documents the lives and experiences of Holocaust survivors who rebuilt their lives in Maine and helped shape the state’s Jewish community.

Also available is Faces & Facets of Jewish Life in Maine, an art and documentary photography volume by internationally recognized Israeli photographer Hedva Rokach. Created during a six-week, 7,000-mile journey across the state, the project features more than 300 portraits of Jewish Mainers from communities large and small. Through photography, personal narrative, and QR-code–linked video interviews, the book captures the richness and diversity of Jewish life across Maine and serves as a lasting visual archive of the community in this moment in time. The book is also the companion publication to the Maine Jewish Museum’s exhibition There Is Always an &.

Whether you are looking for a meaningful gift, a beautiful object for your home, or a deeper connection to Maine’s Jewish story, the Maine Jewish Museum Shop invites you to explore.

Purchases from the Museum Shop directly support the exhibitions, educational programs, and community initiatives of the Maine Jewish Museum.
