Turbulence, Fragility, Resilience

Joanne Tarlin
May 8 – June 26, 2025

About This Exhibition

The fantastical landscape paintings by Joanne Tarlin feature imagery from the dynamic setting in her environment along the southern coast of Maine. They depict shore erosion, rising sea levels, luminous skies, the effects of powerful storms, and a multitude of plants, shrubs, and trees found along its shores. With bold gestures, atmospheric passages, color, and composition,Tarlin utilizes the tools of her craft and metaphorical content to reflect upon the sometimes turbulent, fragile, or resilient qualities of human nature.
