Jesse Melchiskey
November 6 – December 31, 2025
About This Exhibition
Throughout his adventures in the snowy mountains and striking landscapes of the Rocky Mountain West, Jesse Melchiskey was always struck by the dichotomy in the way his days were remembers.
Breathtaking vistas, daring ascents on snow and rock, the glory of a succesful mission, followed by numb classes, the haze of days-long benders, and the empty feeling when the drugs and adrenaline wore off.
Throughout his photographic seriesĀ Just One More, Melchiskey explores the duality of those times, sitting with the lows, and always seeking the next thrill. With this collection of works, he invites the viewer to feel inspired, whole, joyful – melancholy, empty, regretful; to experience the high and the come-down, and what we can learn from both.
About the Artist
Jesse Melchiskey is a Maine-based photographer whose works reflect his time spent in the outdoors, and the bonds of friendship that took him there. From the rolling mountains and lakes of Maine, he moved west, spending seven years exploring the jagged peaks of the Rocky Mountains. Throughout those years, he captured both the moments, and the emotional story behind them. After graduating from University of Colorado at Boulder and working in the ski industry for several years, Jesse now lives back in Southern Maine, working as an Assistant Project Manager at a high end, local construction company, still trying to recover from his ski bum tendencies.
