About This Exhibition
This exhibition features work by six Maine based artists working in printmaking processes such as photo polymer etching, screen print, mono print and woodcut. Together they explore many types of “scapes:” land, city, mind, memory …
Artists include Jane Banquer, Chris Beneman, Victoria Elbroch, Rebecca Goodale, Juliet Karelian, and Ellen Roberts.
About the Artist
Jane Banquer studied with Leonard Baskin as an undergraduate, leading to a life of discovery and invention in printmaking. Her work often combines multiple techniques, consistently informed by observation and drawing.
Chris Beneman is a member of the Peregrine Press printmaking cooperative in Portland. Her work explores the intersection between architecture, geometry, and movement.
Victoria Elbroch lives and works in Kittery. Her work depicts imagined root systems and the subterranean world beneath the forest floor.
Rebecca Goodale has taught book arts and design in faraway places as well as close to home. Her current work embraces the world of her imagination.
Juliet Karelsen is a multi media artist. She always looks to nature for her initial inspiration and then transports ideas from her 3D and fiber work into her silk screen prints. She is a member of Pickwick Independent Press in Portland.
Ellen Roberts is a member of Circling the Square Fine Arts Press in Gardiner. Her work is inspired by details in nature and her life.
