Ellen Golden
March 5 – April 30, 2026

About This Exhibition

This work is a result of both intuitive and emotional responses to personal experience, travel and observation. Each piece is composed of multiple layer, the accumulation of small marks, the spaces between, and the illusion of space and depth, The drawings develop slowly with each mark a response to the ones that have gone before and each element a response to what has preceded it. The process is meditative and requires being open to possibility and change.

About the Artist

Ellen Golden returned to making art more than twenty years ago after a gap of several decades. She has chosen drawing as her genre to realize her aesthetic goals. What makes her drawings successful is her use of great energy, the love of small, precise details, neatness, clarity, and the ability to express notable personal insights and abilities. She has shown her work in a variety of venues in Maine, as well as in New York, Paris, Australia and Germany. She lives in Woolwich, Maine.
