Lifetime Achievement Award Winners Inducted into Maine Jewish Hall of Fame

We are thrilled this year to also enshrine all past winners of the Maine Jewish Museum Lifetime Achievement Award! The Nominating Committee of the Maine Jewish Hall of Fame voted unanimously this spring to further honor the Lifetime Achievement winners by including them in the Hall of Fame as their accomplishments and impact were and continue to be on the same magnitude of those voted into the Hall of Fame. The Lifetime Achievement Award had been the Museum’s highest level of recognition, until it was replaced last year by the creation of the Maine Jewish Hall of Fame. Therefore please join us during today’s ceremony in honoring Rabbi Harry Z. Sky, Kenny and Mary Nelson, Cantor Kurt Messerschmidt of blessed memory, Nancy and Charlie Shuman, and Rabbi Gary Berenson as they enter the Maine Jewish Hall of Fame. Mazel Tov to you and thank you for all you have done and continue to do to improve the lives of others! You are a great example to all of us of what it means to practice Tikkun Olum.
